Fort Stewart is one of the largest Army installations in the continental United States, sprawling across nearly 280,000 acres of coastal Georgia flatlands southwest of Savannah. That landscape — longleaf pine, wiregrass, scrub oak, and the low wetlands characteristic of the Georgia coastal plain — defines the setting here, and Taylors Creek Golf Course sits squarely within it. The course takes its name from one of the many tidal creeks and drainage channels that thread through this part of Liberty County.
