Few stretches of golf in Britain occupy a more dramatic setting than the clifftop holes at Nefyn & District, perched on the Llŷn Peninsula in northwest Wales. The course has been part of this headland since the late 19th century, and its most celebrated passage — a narrow finger of land jutting into Cardigan Bay with the sea dropping away on both sides — is among the most photographed and exhilarating sequences in Welsh golf. On a clear day the views extend to Snowdonia inland and across the water toward Ireland.

The layout threads along and around the headland above the village of Nefyn, where the terrain demands imagination off the tee and rewards those who manage the wind as much as they manage the course itself. The Llŷn is a place of particular quiet and character, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the golf absorbs all of that atmosphere.
