Sun City Riverview GC sits within the original Sun City development, Del Webb's landmark 1960 planned retirement community northwest of Phoenix — one of the first of its kind in the country. Golf was baked into Sun City's DNA from the start; Webb famously opened the community on New Year's Day 1960 with a golf course already in play, understanding that active-retirement living and the game were inseparable.
