Few courses in the South Bay can claim the pedigree that Coyote Creek's Tournament Course carries. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2000, it was built to championship specifications from the ground up — and it shows. The layout winds through the rolling foothills of the Santa Clara Valley, where oak-studded terrain, native grasses, and the occasional water hazard combine to create a course that demands strategic thinking from the first tee. It has hosted PGA Tour events on the Nationwide/Korn Ferry circuit, which puts it in rare company for public-access golf in Northern California.
Morgan Hill sits at the southern edge of Silicon Valley, where the urban sprawl finally gives way to cattle ranches and open hillsides. The Coyote Creek corridor running through the area lends the course its name and its character — expect firm, fast conditions and a layout that rewards players who can shape shots and manage risk.
This is one of 2 courses at the facility, alongside the Valley Course, but the Tournament layout is the marquee experience. Players looking for a genuine championship test in the South Bay regularly make the trip south specifically for this one.
