Tom Weiskopf spent the back half of his career building courses that reflected his own exacting standards as a player — precise, strategic, and demanding without being punitive. Weiskopf, the 1973 Open Championship winner at Royal Troon, became one of the most respected architect-players of his generation, designing courses across the American Southwest and Sun Belt that rewarded thoughtful shot selection over raw power.
