El Mogote

La Paz sits at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, where the Sea of Cortés meets desert mountain terrain in one of Mexico's most dramatically beautiful settings. Jacques Cousteau famously called these waters the world's aquarium, and the surrounding landscape — volcanic rock, cardon cactus, and sun-scorched hillsides — carries that same raw, otherworldly quality. El Mogote takes its name from the striking peninsula of sand and mangrove that juts into the bay directly across from the La Paz waterfront, a local landmark that defines the city's silhouette.

La Paz itself is less touristed than Los Cabos, roughly 3 hours to the south, which gives the city a genuinely local character that carries over to its golf.
