Few corners of Northeast Florida's inland golf landscape carry quite the suburban charm of Cimarrone Golf Club, a well-regarded daily-fee layout serving the residential communities of Jacksonville's Southside and St. Johns County. The course winds through a mature, tree-lined setting that's more shaded and intimate than the open coastal designs you'll find closer to the Atlantic, giving it a character that rewards accuracy over raw power.
Jacksonville's golf scene is notably deep for a Sun Belt metro, with everything from downtown munis to world-class resort tracks at Ponte Vedra Beach down the road. Cimarrone occupies a solid middle ground: a course locals return to regularly, one that plays fair but asks you to manage your game around water hazards and the kind of tight, wooded corridors that punish wayward drives more than the scorecard alone suggests.
The Florida climate means Cimarrone is a year-round operation, at its finest during the cooler, drier months from October through April when the turf firms up and scoring conditions are at their most favorable.
