Rivanazzano Terme sits in the Oltrepò Pavese, the southernmost wedge of Lombardy where the Po plain gives way to the Apennine foothills — wine country, spa country, and decidedly unhurried Italian countryside. The town itself has long drawn visitors for its therapeutic mineral springs, and Golf Salice Terme belongs to that same tradition of quiet resort life, occupying gently rolling terrain where vineyards and wooded ridgelines define the horizon. It is a setting that rewards unhurried play.
The course occupies undulating parkland typical of this corner of northern Italy, where the land tilts and folds just enough to create interesting lies and varied sightlines without ever becoming punishing. Tree-lined fairways frame most holes, and the transitions between open, sun-exposed stretches and shadier woodland corridors give the round a pleasant rhythm. Winter rounds can be soft underfoot, while summer brings firm, fast conditions more reminiscent of classic continental parkland golf.
For visiting golfers based in Pavia or passing through en route between Milan and Genoa, Salice Terme offers a genuinely Italian day out — good golf, thermal baths nearby, and the Oltrepò's Pinot Nero on the table afterward. The combination is hard to argue with.
