Club de golf El Bosque

El Bosque is one of the Madrid region's most respected private clubs, built on a wooded estate in Villaviciosa de Odón, roughly 25 kilometers southwest of the capital. The course was designed by José María Olazábal — one of the most celebrated European golfers of his generation and a two-time Masters champion — giving it an immediate distinction that few Spanish courses can claim. Opened in the 1990s, El Bosque reflects Olazábal's instinct for strategic design: fairways that reward considered shot selection over raw power, and greens with enough movement to punish inattention without ever feeling unfair.

The setting does much of the work. Dense pine and oak woodland frames almost every hole, creating a sense of seclusion that belies the course's proximity to Madrid. The terrain rolls naturally through the estate, and the tree cover means conditions can shift dramatically across a round — shaded and cool in some stretches, open and exposed in others.
