Few golf courses on earth offer a playing environment quite like this one. Tromsø Golfpark sits at roughly 69 degrees north latitude, making it one of the northernmost golf courses in the world, set in the narrow valley at the southern end of Ramfjorden — a fjord arm that cuts deep into the mountains southeast of Tromsø city. The surrounding landscape is dramatic in every season: steep, forested hillsides rising sharply from the valley floor, a tidal inlet nearby, and snow-capped peaks that stay in view throughout your round.
The course is perhaps best known for its Midnight Sun golf, a phenomenon that draws visiting players from around the world during the summer months when the sun doesn't set for weeks at a stretch. Playing a round at 1 a.m. under full daylight is a genuinely surreal experience that no scorecard statistic can prepare you for.
The climate shapes everything here. The season is short, the terrain is uneven and naturally rugged, and the course plays with an honest, unhurried character typical of Scandinavian golf — well-maintained given the conditions, unpretentious, and embedded in one of Norway's most visually spectacular settings.
