Few golf clubs in southern Sweden carry the pedigree of Bokskogens. Founded in 1963 and situated in Bara, just south of Malmö in Skåne, the club has grown into one of the region's most respected layouts — respected enough to have earned consistent placement among Sweden's top-ranked courses. The name itself references the surrounding beech forests ("bokskog" means beech woodland in Swedish), and that canopy defines the course's character: long, elegant fairways cut through mature trees that reward accuracy off the tee as much as distance.
Skåne is Sweden's southernmost province and its most continental in feel — flatter and more agricultural than the rest of the country, with a climate mild enough to support a longer playing season than almost anywhere else in Sweden. The landscape around Bara has a quiet, unhurried quality that suits a members' club of this tradition.
Bokskogens plays to a serious test of ball-striking. The tree-lined corridors demand shape and commitment, and the course rewards players who understand their own game. It is the kind of place that reveals more with each successive round.
