Lidingö Golfklubb occupies one of the more enviable addresses in Swedish golf — spread across the island of Lidingö, just east of central Stockholm, where the Baltic archipelago begins to fracture the landscape into bays, inlets, and wooded peninsulas. Founded in 1932, the club is among the older established courses in the Stockholm region and carries the quietly confident character of a classic Scandinavian members' club that has never needed to shout about itself.
The course winds through a genuine island terrain of granite outcroppings, birch and pine forest, and occasional water views that remind you exactly where you are. This is golf shaped by the land rather than imposed upon it — tight, tree-lined fairways reward local knowledge, and the short game is tested by firm, well-maintained greens typical of Swedish club golf at its best.
Lidingö is also known as a community deeply invested in sport and outdoor life, and the club reflects that culture: serious about golf, but welcoming in the way that island neighbourhoods tend to be. For visitors to Stockholm looking beyond the capital's best-known venues, it offers a genuine and grounded alternative.
