The course at Yarralumla sits on gently undulating ground near the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, weaving through a mature canopy of eucalypts and pines that give it a character distinct from Australia's sandy, links-influenced layouts. Fairways are generous but the course rewards precise iron play, and the greens have a reputation for being among the truest and most carefully maintained surfaces in the ACT. It has hosted numerous Australian amateur championships and remains the unambiguous heartland of competitive golf in the territory.
