Roganstown Golf Club occupies a stretch of County Dublin's north fringe, a few miles from Swords — one of Ireland's fastest-growing towns and a short run from Dublin Airport. The course opened in the early 2000s as part of a hotel and spa complex, designed by Christy O'Connor Jr., the Irish architect known for his work across the island and for that famous 2-iron at the 1989 Ryder Cup. O'Connor Jr. shaped Roganstown through gently rolling Fingal farmland, routing holes around the River Broadmeadow and making water a recurring tactical factor throughout the round.
The layout rewards course management over raw power — a par 71 that plays longer and more demanding than casual visitors might expect, with several holes where the river and surrounding wetland compress the margin for error. The setting is open and exposed in places, meaning the wind off the Irish Sea can shift the challenge considerably depending on the day.
As a hotel resort operation, Roganstown draws a mix of local members, visiting business travelers, and international golfers passing through Dublin, offering a genuine taste of inland Irish golf without the trek to the Atlantic links.
