Mount Hope sits in the heart of Hamilton's southern fringe, where the Niagara Escarpment country begins to open up into the broader agricultural flatlands of Haldimand. It's solidly southern Ontario golf terrain — rolling enough to create interest, open enough that the sky feels big, with the kind of mixed tree cover that turns vivid in September.
Gold Eagle Golf Club operates a multi-course facility, and the Red Falcon combination draws from 2 of its 9-hole loops. That format is common at larger daily-fee operations in the Greater Hamilton area, where courses have built out additional nines over time to handle strong regional demand and give regulars fresh routing options. The result is typically a layout that rewards repeat play — different nines can shift the character of the round meaningfully depending on the combination.
At par 72, the Red Falcon plays as a full regulation test. The Hamilton-area golf season runs roughly April through November, with late summer and fall offering some of the region's best conditions — firm turf, cooling temperatures, and the kind of weekend traffic that signals a genuinely well-used local track.
