Kennedy Park sits along the Napa River's edge on the south side of the city, a public facility that has long served as an accessible entry point into the game for locals and a casual option for visitors more accustomed to the valley's wine country trappings. The course occupies flat, open ground typical of the river corridor, where valley oaks and the occasional eucalyptus provide structure without ever making the layout feel claustrophobic.
As a municipally managed layout at par 72, it plays the straightforward, unpretentious role that public golf does best — a place where a quick afternoon round is never out of the question and green fees don't require the same budget as a tasting room visit. The terrain keeps things walkable, and the pace of the surrounding park setting gives the whole experience a relaxed, unhurried quality.
Napa itself sits at the southern mouth of one of California's most visited corridors, where the climate runs warm and dry through summer and mild into autumn, stretching the golf season comfortably long.
