Few golf courses anywhere in the world occupy ground quite like Villamor's. The club sits within Villamor Air Base in Pasay — part of Metro Manila's dense urban sprawl — making it one of the more singular settings in Philippine golf: a full 18-hole layout operating inside an active military installation. That unusual geography shapes everything about a round here, from the check-in process at the gate to the sense of playing somewhere genuinely apart from the city pressing in on all sides.
The Philippine golf scene is one of Southeast Asia's most active, and Metro Manila alone supports a remarkable concentration of courses given the region's space constraints. Villamor is an Air Force-affiliated club, which gives it a members-and-guests character distinct from the country's flashier resort layouts in Tagaytay or the Sta. Elena corridor. It caters primarily to military personnel and their families, lending the place a no-frills practicality that regulars tend to appreciate.
Manila's climate means year-round play is possible, though the June-to-October wet season brings heavy afternoon rains and humidity that can make the back 9 a genuinely different test than the front.
