Few American towns carry the weight that Gettysburg does. This is hallowed ground — the site of the Civil War's bloodiest and most decisive battle in July 1863 — and that history doesn't dissolve when you step onto the first tee. Playing golf here comes with a particular awareness of place that you simply won't find at courses elsewhere in Pennsylvania.
The course sits in Adams County, in the gently rolling piedmont of south-central Pennsylvania, where the land transitions from the Blue Ridge foothills toward the Cumberland Valley. The terrain is characteristic of the region: open meadows, scattered woodlands, and the kind of soft elevation changes that invite a ground game. Summers are warm and humid, autumns are vivid, and the surrounding farmland gives the property a quiet, unhurried feel.
As a regulation 18-hole, par-72 layout on public ground in a destination town, The Links at Gettysburg draws a broad mix of visiting golfers who've come to the area for the history and find their way to the course as a natural complement to a day spent on the battlefield.
