Nephi sits in the Juab Valley, flanked by the Wasatch Plateau to the east and the Canyon Mountains to the west — one of those stretches of central Utah that feels genuinely remote even though I-15 runs right through it. At roughly 5,100 feet of elevation, the air is thin and the ball flies, and the high desert climate means firm, fast conditions for much of the season. The name Canyon Hills suggests the course works with the natural contours of this rugged terrain rather than against it.
I don't have detailed records of Canyon Hills GC's architect or history, but a par 72 layout in a small agricultural community like Nephi typically represents the heart of local golf — the kind of course where regulars know every slope and bump by name, green fees stay honest, and tee times are rarely hard to come by.
Central Utah's golf corridor — running from Salt Lake south through communities like Payson, Fillmore, and Cedar City — tends to reward visitors who wander off the resort circuit. Canyon Hills fits that mold: a genuine community course set against some of the most dramatic high-desert scenery in the state.
