Few private clubs in the Montreal region carry the prestige of Laval-sur-le-Lac. Founded in 1917 on the western shore of Île Jésus — the island that is now the city of Laval — the club has long been considered one of Quebec's premier private retreats, consistently ranked among the top courses in Canada. Its membership has historically drawn from Montreal's francophone business and professional elite, giving the club a distinctly Québécois character that sets it apart from the city's anglophone clubs across the river.
The course itself winds through mature hardwoods along the shoreline of Lac des Deux Montagnes, and the combination of tree-lined fairways, subtle elevation changes, and water features rewards precise shotmaking over raw power. Autumn play, when the maple and oak canopy ignites in colour, is genuinely spectacular — one of the more beautiful settings in Canadian golf.
As a serious private members' club, access is limited to members and their guests. For those fortunate enough to play here, it represents a genuine window into Quebec's deep and proud golf culture.
