Graham Cooke's design opened in 1999 as the centerpiece of the Mont-Tremblant resort complex, and Le Maître quickly earned a reputation as one of Quebec's most celebrated resort courses. Cooke routed the layout through the Laurentian Mountains with genuine respect for the terrain, producing elevation changes and forested corridors that demand both precision and course management. The par-3 7th hole, playing across water toward a backdrop of ridgeline and sky, became one of the most photographed in the province. Golf Digest and Score Golf have consistently ranked Le Maître among Canada's top resort tracks.

Mont-Tremblant itself is Quebec's premier four-season resort destination — the village modeled loosely on a European ski town, the Rivière du Diable threading through the valley below.
