Delhi's golf landscape is dominated by the grand old institutions — the Delhi Golf Club with its Mughal-era monuments scattered across the fairways, the Army Golf Club, the Classic Golf Resort on the outskirts — but Public Park sits in a different tradition entirely: accessible, unpretentious urban golf for the city's everyday player. New Delhi itself is a city of extraordinary contrasts, where colonial-era boulevards give way to ancient ruins and chaotic modern sprawl, and a municipal golf facility fits naturally into that democratic, layered character.
The climate here demands respect. Delhi's summers are genuinely brutal, with temperatures regularly exceeding 45°C, making early morning tee times not just preferable but essential from May through September. The cooler months from October through February are when the city's golf scene truly comes alive, the air cleaner and the light on the turf soft and golden in those hours just after dawn.
A shorter executive or public layout of this kind serves a real purpose in a megacity of 30 million people — offering a place to work on the game, introduce newcomers to golf, and keep regular players sharp between visits to the grander clubs across the capital.
