Maglarps golfklubb sits on the southwestern tip of Sweden, just outside Trelleborg in a part of Skåne that feels almost more Danish than Swedish — flat, wind-scoured farmland running down to the Baltic coast. Trelleborg is best known as a major ferry terminal connecting Sweden to Germany and Poland, and the landscape reflects that exposed, maritime character: open skies, agricultural fields, and a persistent sea breeze that can turn a calm round into something altogether more demanding.
Skåne is Sweden's most golf-dense region, with courses ranging from parkland layouts tucked into beech forests to links-influenced designs along the coast. Maglarp sits firmly in the latter tradition. The terrain is low-lying and relatively open, meaning wind direction becomes as important a factor as club selection on any given day.
As a local members' club serving Trelleborg and its surrounding villages, Maglarps golfklubb carries the familiar character of Swedish county golf — well-maintained, community-rooted, and refreshingly unpretentious. It offers a genuine feel for southern Scandinavian golf without the resort polish, rewarding players who learn to manage the conditions rather than overpower the layout.
