Woodlands Country Club occupies a stretch of forested terrain in Örkelljunga municipality, in the inland reaches of Skåne — Sweden's southernmost province and easily its most golf-saturated region. While the coastal courses around Båstad and the links-influenced layouts further west tend to attract the most attention, Örkelljunga sits quietly in the Söderåsen highlands, where the landscape is defined by dense beech and pine woodland, rolling ridgelines, and a noticeably cooler, more sheltered microclimate than the Öresund shoreline an hour to the southwest.
The course leans into that woodland character rather than fighting it. Tight, tree-lined corridors demand shape and placement off the tee, and the natural topography creates sequences where course management matters more than raw power. For members, that consistency of challenge — the same trees, the same slopes, the same subtle breaks — becomes something to be read and respected over years of play.
Skåne supports one of the densest concentrations of golf clubs in Scandinavia, and Woodlands occupies a particular niche within it: a private members' retreat where the forest, not the scorecard, sets the tone.
