Golf départemental

Seine-Saint-Denis is not a department people typically associate with golf. The 93 — as locals call it — is Paris's northeastern frontier, dense and urban, one of the most diverse and working-class corners of greater France. Which is precisely what makes a publicly accessible, departmental golf course here genuinely notable: this is golf offered to a population that rarely gets it, in a territory where green space of any kind is something to be grateful for.

The course sits within the Forêt de Sévran, one of the larger woodland reserves in the inner suburbs, giving it a surprisingly verdant, almost removed character given how close the Francilienne ring road and the RER B rumble nearby. That forest setting — flat, with mature trees defining corridors between holes — is the dominant design element. The layout reads as a municipal facility in the best French tradition: accessible, modestly scaled, focused on introducing the game rather than testing its limits.

For a first round, a junior outing, or simply getting outside northeast of Paris, it serves its community well.
