Carved into the rolling highlands of Cavite province, South Forbes Golf Club sits within the broader Fil-Estate development corridor that transformed this stretch of the Sierra Madre foothills into one of the Philippines' most concentrated pockets of private golf. Silang occupies a cooler, elevated belt south of Manila — far enough from the capital to breathe, close enough to draw the city's serious playing membership on weekends. The club takes its name from Forbes Park, the storied Makati enclave that has long represented a certain tier of Philippine society, and the course was designed to match those associations.
South Forbes plays across genuinely contoured terrain, with elevation changes that reward course management and punish careless club selection. The layout has a reputation among Manila-area golfers as a solid, well-maintained members' track — not a flashy resort spectacle, but a course that reveals itself over repeated rounds and rewards local knowledge.
Cavite's highland climate means playing conditions are notably more temperate than Metro Manila's lowland heat, and afternoon mists are not uncommon. For golfers based in the south of the metro, South Forbes represents a reliable and characterful home-away-from-home.
