Few courses in Michigan carry the historical weight of Warwick Hills. This Grand Blanc layout served as the longtime home of the Buick Open, one of the PGA Tour's most enduring Midwest stops, hosting the event from 1958 through 2009. Over those decades, the course saw victories from Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Tiger Woods, among others — a who's who of the game's greatest players walking the same fairways a member might play on any given Saturday morning.
The course was designed by Joe Lee, whose routing takes advantage of the gently rolling terrain of Genesee County. It plays as a classic American parkland layout, with mature trees defining the holes and a premium placed on accurate driving. The Buick Open's longtime presence meant the course was maintained to Tour standards for much of its history, and that culture of conditioning has remained part of its identity.
Grand Blanc sits in the heart of mid-Michigan, a region with a serious golf tradition and a strong blue-collar appreciation for the game. Warwick Hills is a private club, but its public legacy through decades of televised Tour golf gives it a recognizable character that extends well beyond its membership.
