The course was laid out to take full advantage of the valley floor's natural contours, with the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees forming a panorama that competes seriously for your attention between shots.

The high-altitude setting shapes everything about how the course plays: the thin mountain air adds distance to every club, the light is extraordinarily clear, and afternoon thunderstorms rolling off the mountains in summer demand an early start. The fairways run through a landscape of Scots pine and silver birch, with the Riu Segre threading through the property and bringing water into play on several holes.
