Colorado City sits along the I-25 corridor in the Huerfano/Pueblo county borderlands, where the eastern flank of the Wet Mountains meets the broad high plains. At roughly 5,000 feet of elevation, the air is thin and the ball flies farther than it would at sea level — a fact that regularly surprises first-time visitors who expect a punishing layout and find their distances stretched pleasantly outward. Hollydot is a public, everyday course built for accessibility rather than exclusivity — the kind of facility that anchors local golf in a small community and sees regulars walking it on weekday mornings as much as weekend visitors rolling through on road trips down I-25.
