Situated in Nanchang, the provincial capital of Jiangxi, this club takes its name from the "828" landmark — a reference to the August 28th Farm, a state agricultural enterprise that once defined this stretch of land on the city's outskirts. The course occupies terrain that reflects the broader Jiangxi landscape: flat to gently rolling, shaped by the same alluvial plains that fan out around Poyang Lake, China's largest freshwater lake, which lies not far to the north. The "翠林" (Cuìlín) in the name — meaning verdant forest — speaks to the mature tree cover that gives the layout its defining visual character and brings genuine shot-shaping demands into play.
Nanchang sits in a humid subtropical climate, where summers are intensely hot and rainy and winters relatively mild, meaning the course holds playable conditions across much of the year, though the midsummer heat demands an early tee time.
As a private members' club serving Nanchang's business and professional community, the facility carries the polished, amenity-focused atmosphere typical of China's early wave of private golf development, where the clubhouse experience is considered as integral to membership as the round itself.
