Murcia sits in the driest corner of mainland Spain, a sun-baked region of citrus groves, market gardens, and a coastline that the Spanish themselves have long favoured over the more touristed stretches of the Costa del Sol. Golf arrived here later than in Andalusia, but the region has built a quiet, confident scene around courses that take full advantage of the terrain — rolling volcanic hills, terracotta earth, and light that makes the fairways look almost painted.
United Golf Resort forms part of this modern wave of resort golf development in the Murcia interior, offering visitors a self-contained experience with the warm, dry climate that makes this corner of Spain playable for most of the year. Summers are fierce and the landscape browns accordingly, but spring and autumn deliver near-ideal conditions — mild temperatures, little wind, and long evenings that extend the day's last round well past dinner hour.
As a resort course, the appeal extends beyond the round itself: accommodation, facilities, and the unhurried pace of southeastern Spain are all part of the package. Murcia city, the regional capital, is close enough to offer a genuine taste of Spanish urban life well away from the package-holiday circuits.
