Cachagua sits along Chile's central coast, roughly 160 kilometers northwest of Santiago in the Valparaíso region — a stretch of Pacific shoreline where the cold Humboldt Current keeps the air crisp even in the height of summer. The town itself is a quietly exclusive enclave, known more to Chilean families with generations-deep connections to the area than to outside visitors. Golf here exists within that same closed, unhurried world.
Costa Cachagua occupies terrain shaped by the coastal hills and ravines that define this part of the Chilean littoral, where native scrub, ocean breezes, and the occasional marine layer rolling in from the Pacific set the conditions for any given round. A par-72 layout of this kind, in a setting this remote and private-feeling, tends to reward local knowledge — understanding which way the wind bends around a hillside matters as much as any number on a yardage guide.
The broader Valparaíso region has a modest but genuine golf tradition, with a handful of clubs serving Santiago's weekend escape crowd. Costa Cachagua sits at the quieter, more personal end of that spectrum — a place where the Pacific backdrop does most of the talking.
