Few golf destinations in British Columbia's interior capture the raw drama of the Thompson Plateau quite like Talking Rock Golf Club. The course sits near Chase, a small community at the eastern end of Little Shuswap Lake, where the landscape shifts between semi-arid benchland, ponderosa pine, and the broad river valleys that define this corner of the province. It's a setting with genuine visual power — tawny grass, sage-scented air, and sightlines that reach well beyond the property's boundaries.
Talking Rock is the golf operation tied to the Quaaout Lodge & Spa, owned and operated by the Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band, which gives the club a cultural identity few courses in Canada can claim. That connection to Indigenous stewardship of the land adds a layer of meaning to a round here that the scorecard cannot begin to convey.
The Shuswap region sits roughly midway between Kamloops and Salmon Arm along the Trans-Canada, making Talking Rock a natural stop for travelling golfers. Summers are warm and reliably dry — ideal conditions for firm, fast turf and the kind of relaxed, unhurried golf this part of BC does particularly well.
