Saint-Zotique sits along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, roughly an hour southwest of Montreal. This stretch of Quebec farmland and riverfront has long attracted both cottagers and commuters, giving the area a relaxed, semi-rural character that carries right onto the golf course. The St. Lawrence is a defining presence here — wide, slow, and enormous — and the flat alluvial terrain typical of the region shapes the kind of golf you can expect: open, accessible, and oriented toward a broad local membership rather than destination travel.
As a full 18-hole, par-72 layout, the course is built to deliver a complete round rather than a quick fix, the kind of club where regulars develop a genuine relationship with the land over many seasons.
Quebec golf has a compressed window — roughly May through October — which tends to breed a particular intensity among local players who squeeze every round they can out of the season. That seasonal urgency gives regional clubs like this one a lively, community-centered atmosphere that courses in milder climates rarely match.
