Cherasco sits in the Langhe-Roero heartland of Piedmont, one of Italy's most quietly compelling corners — rolling countryside that produces Barolo and Barbaresco, watched over by the Ligurian Alps on the southern horizon. This is agricultural Italy at its most unhurried, and Golf Club Cherasco takes its character directly from that landscape: open, gently undulating terrain shaped by vineyards and farmland, with the kind of wide-sky views that make it difficult to keep your head down.
The club occupies a region with a modest but genuine golf tradition, part of the broader northern Italian circuit that stretches from Turin toward the Ligurian coast. A par 72 layout here almost certainly plays across ground that rewards course management over raw power — Piedmontese parkland courses tend to punish lateral waywardness more than length, and the local climate, warm summers softening into cool autumnal mornings, keeps conditions firm and fast through the best playing months.
For visiting golfers, the appeal extends well beyond the round itself. The CN province — Cuneo — remains largely off the tourist radar, which means quieter tee times, genuine local hospitality, and the very reasonable prospect of a Barolo or a plate of tajarin waiting once the clubs are back in the bag.
