Golf d'Evian

Few European resort courses carry the weight of history that this one does. Opened in 1904 on the slopes above Lake Geneva, Golf d'Evian is one of the oldest courses in France and the home of the Evian Championship, the LPGA's fifth major, which has drawn the world's best women players here since 2013. The layout occupies the hillside estate of the Evian resort, and the elevation changes are dramatic — players routinely navigate steep, terraced fairways with the shimmering expanse of Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps providing a backdrop that is simply unlike anything else in competitive golf.

The course was redesigned by Cabell B. Robinson in 1991, sharpening it into a proper championship test while preserving the hillside routing that gives it its character. Tree-lined corridors, tight approach angles, and greens that demand precise distance control reward patience over power.

Publier sits just above Évian-les-Bains, a spa town built around its famous mineral springs on the southern shore of Lake Geneva.
