Calabash has built its identity around 2 things: seafood shacks and golf. The small town on the North Carolina–South Carolina border sits at the heart of one of the Eastern Seaboard's most concentrated golf corridors, where Brunswick County and Horry County together host well over 100 courses within a short drive. Crow Creek Golf is part of that fabric — a public-access layout serving the steady flow of vacationers heading to or from the nearby Grand Strand beaches, as well as the growing number of retirees who've made this corner of the Cape Fear coast their permanent home.
The low country terrain here is characteristically flat, shaped by tidal marshes, longleaf pine stands, and the kind of open Carolina sky that makes afternoon light on a fairway feel genuinely cinematic. Courses in this region tend to lean into the natural water features and wetland edges that frame nearly every hole, and conditions along the coast generally allow for a long playing season.
As a public par 72, Crow Creek is positioned as an accessible, enjoyable round rather than a white-knuckle examination — the bread-and-butter offering of a region where golf is less a luxury than a way of life.
