Moanalua Golf Club

Few golf clubs in Hawaii carry as much history as Moanalua. Established in 1898, it ranks among the oldest golf clubs in the United States and holds a particular claim as one of the earliest in the Pacific — predating statehood by more than 6 decades and rooted in a stretch of Honolulu that was once part of the estate lands of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop. That lineage gives the club a quiet gravity you don't find at the island's resort destinations.

The course occupies the Moanalua Valley, a lush corridor inland from the bustle of Honolulu proper, framed by the Ko'olau Range. The setting is distinctly non-resort: mature trees, a genuine sense of enclosure, and terrain shaped more by the land's natural contours than by any grand design statement. Trade winds and the valley's own micro-climate keep conditions interesting throughout the year.
