Hutchinson sits in the heart of the Reno County plains, where the land opens wide and the sky feels enormous — a stretch of south-central Kansas that most travelers pass through on their way somewhere else, not realizing the region has a quiet, durable golf culture built by working-class communities who take their recreation seriously.
