Tipton County sits in the flat, fertile lowlands of West Tennessee, where the Mississippi River's influence shapes both the land and the pace of life. Drummonds is a small community in that agricultural stretch — cotton and soybean country, far from the mountain courses that define Tennessee's more celebrated golf geography. Golf out here tends to be honest and unpretentious, the kind of game played among neighbors rather than destination travelers.
Forest Hill Golf Course fits that character. An 18-hole, par-72 layout in this part of the state almost certainly plays through open, relatively level terrain, where tree lines and fairway shape matter more than dramatic elevation. West Tennessee's humid summers bring thick rough and receptive greens through much of the season, while mild winters extend the playing calendar well beyond what golfers in the eastern part of the state enjoy.
This is community golf — accessible, local, and rooted in the everyday rhythms of a region where the sport is woven into small-town life rather than resort culture.
