Few golf clubs in Spain carry the prestige of a Real designation earned through royal patronage, and Real Club de Golf de Sevilla stands among the country's most respected private members' clubs. The course was designed by José María Olazábal, the two-time Masters champion, and opened in 1992 — conceived as a venue capable of hosting elite competition from the outset. It has done exactly that, serving as a regular stop on the European Tour and later the DP World Tour, including multiple editions of the Andalucía Open.
