Lough Rynn Golf Club sits on the grounds of Lough Rynn Castle Estate in County Leitrim, one of Ireland's least-visited and most quietly beautiful counties. The estate itself has deep historical roots, once the seat of the Clements family — the Earls of Leitrim — and the landscape carries that weight, with mature woodland, stone walls, and the shimmering presence of Lough Rynn itself threading through the property. Playing here feels less like a visit to a golf club and more like stepping into a working Irish estate where golf happens to be part of the landscape.
Leitrim is genuine lakeland Ireland — drumlin country shaped by glaciers, riddled with water, and stubbornly green year-round. The course reflects its surroundings: tight, tree-lined holes that demand accuracy over power, with water coming into play in ways that feel organic rather than manufactured. It rewards course management and a patient short game far more than raw distance.
For visiting golfers, the appeal extends well beyond the round itself. The castle operates as a hotel, making Lough Rynn a natural stop on any midlands golf itinerary — a place to slow down, play a thoughtful course, and absorb a corner of Ireland that most tourists simply drive past.
