Cape Cod's military installations have long shaped the landscape of the Upper Cape, and Falcon Golf Course sits within the boundaries of Air Station Cape Cod — one of the oldest continuously operating air stations in the country. Military golf courses tend to carry their own quiet distinction: built for the people who work and serve there, they often occupy land that would otherwise be inaccessible to the public, which frequently means genuinely interesting terrain with little commercial pressure to homogenize the experience.
Cape Cod itself is one of the more underrated golf regions in New England. The peninsula's sandy glacial soils, coastal breezes, and scrubby pitch pine and oak landscapes create conditions that echo links-adjacent play — firm fairways, unpredictable wind, and a rawness that resort-polished courses rarely replicate. Autumn rounds here can be exceptional, with cooler air and a landscape that turns quietly golden.
As a full 18-hole, par-72 layout on a military installation, Falcon serves active duty personnel, retirees, and eligible guests. Access adds a layer of exclusivity that has nothing to do with green fees and everything to do with the community it exists to serve.
