Southpointe Golf Club sits in Washington County, southwest of Pittsburgh, in a part of western Pennsylvania that traded its industrial past for a corridor of corporate campuses and upscale development — Southpointe itself being one of the region's signature business parks. The course grew out of that same planned community, designed to serve the professionals and executives who relocated here during the region's post-steel reinvention. It occupies rolling terrain characteristic of the Allegheny foothills, where the land folds naturally into elevation changes that give course designers plenty to work with.
The layout plays as a full par 72, long enough to reward accurate ball-strikers while the terrain keeps shorter hitters honest. Western Pennsylvania's climate means distinct seasons — firm and fast conditions in summer, genuine autumn color in September and October, and spring rounds that can be soft underfoot as the ground recovers from hard winters.
For Pittsburgh-area golfers, this is a well-appointed option in a region that takes its golf seriously, sitting alongside a broader southwestern Pennsylvania scene that punches above its weight in quality public and semi-private offerings.
