Longreach sits in the dead heart of outback Queensland, roughly 1,200 kilometres west of Brisbane, where the Channel Country gives way to Mitchell grass plains and the sky feels genuinely enormous. This is Qantas country — the airline was founded here in 1920 — and the town carries that pioneering, make-it-work spirit into everything it does, including its golf club.
Outback courses like Longreach operate by their own rules.
