Foxcliff Golf Club sits in Morgan County, part of the gently rolling hill country that defines south-central Indiana between Indianapolis and Bloomington. The terrain here is a world away from the flat agricultural plains that dominate much of the state — wooded ridges, creek hollows, and elevation changes give the land a natural character that suits golf well. Martinsville itself is a small county seat with a quiet, unpretentious sporting culture, and Foxcliff fits that mold: a course built for the people who live here, not for destination tourism.
Without fabricating details I don't have confirmed, what can be said is that the layout plays as a full par 72, and the landscape it occupies almost certainly does a good portion of the design work — courses in this part of Indiana tend to lean on natural topography rather than manufactured drama.
For Indianapolis-area golfers willing to make the 40-minute drive south, Foxcliff offers a change of scenery that the flat courses closer to the city simply cannot provide.
