Laughlin Ranch Golf Club occupies one of the more dramatic natural settings in American golf — a high-desert canyon environment along the Colorado River corridor where the borders of Arizona, Nevada, and California meet. The course was designed by David Druzisky and opened in 2003, carved through the rugged volcanic terrain and arroyos just outside Bullhead City, across the river from Laughlin, Nevada's casino strip. It has earned consistent recognition as one of Arizona's top public courses, and the layout's elevation changes and canyon vistas give it a character that feels genuinely earned rather than manufactured.
The design makes full use of the surrounding Sonoran and Mojave desert landscape — saguaro, ocotillo, and jagged rock formations are constant companions, and errant shots quickly find unforgiving terrain. The routing moves through washes and over ridgelines, creating strong variety in both shot demands and scenery.
Bullhead City itself is a sun-baked river town, and the heat here is serious business — summer temperatures routinely exceed 110 degrees. Morning tee times are a practical necessity, and the shoulder seasons reward those who plan accordingly.
