Enger Park Golf Course

Enger Park is one of Duluth's oldest public golf courses, a municipal layout that has served the city's golfers for decades from its perch on the hillside above Lake Superior. The course takes its name from Bert Enger, a Norwegian immigrant businessman who donated the surrounding parkland to the city of Duluth in the 1920s, and that legacy of civic generosity still shapes the place — this is genuinely public ground, built for the community and still priced accordingly.

Duluth sits on some of the most dramatic topography in the upper Midwest, where the land drops sharply from the iron range ridgeline down to the world's largest freshwater lake. Enger Park makes full use of that terrain. Elevation changes are real and constant, and on clear days the views across Lake Superior stretch toward Wisconsin and beyond — the kind of scenery that makes a double bogey sting a little less.
