Opened in 2021 as the sister course to the celebrated Cabot Cliffs and Cabot Links, The Nest was designed by Rod Whitman — the same architect whose fingerprints are all over some of Canada's most admired layouts — and built specifically as a shorter, more accessible complement to its famous neighbors. It plays across open heathland terrain with expansive views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and while it doesn't chase the drama of the clifftop holes at Cabot Cliffs, it earns its place through thoughtful design and genuine playability for a wide range of handicaps.

What Whitman delivers here is a walking-friendly course that rewards shot-making creativity over raw power, with wide fairways, firm and fast conditions, and greens that ask real questions without punishing unfairly.

Inverness itself is a small former coal-mining town on Cape Breton's western shore — a place transformed by the Cabot resort into one of golf's most unexpected pilgrimages.
