Few clubs in the Baltimore area carry the social and sporting weight of Green Spring Valley Hunt Club. Founded as part of the broader hunt club tradition that defined Maryland's storied horse country, the club has long been woven into the fabric of Owings Mills and the surrounding Green Spring Valley — one of the most historically affluent corridors in the Mid-Atlantic, where rolling farmland, stone fences, and old-money estates set a distinctly pastoral tone. Golf here exists alongside equestrian culture in a way you simply don't find at most American clubs.
The course itself reflects the natural contours of the valley, with terrain shaped by the same gentle ridges and mature hardwoods that make this corner of Baltimore County so visually distinctive. Maryland's four genuine seasons mean firm, fast conditions in summer and spectacular autumn color come October.
As a private members' club of this heritage and setting, Green Spring Valley is less a place you stumble upon than one you're brought into — a course where the surroundings do as much talking as the layout itself.
